Trailing Hook

If you prefer to have a hook type of device in assisting the GRR-Ripper® to feed the stock from trailing end, you have two choices.  One is using the Stabilizing Plate of the Advanced Model GR-200 (watch the How to use GR-200 Slide Show) and the second option is to add a removable wood block at the end of the GRR-Ripper as shown in the picture below.

The wood block is a small piece of rectangular shaped solid wood (we'll call it Trailing Hook), Poplar seems to work fine.  It is very easy to make, so you can replace it whenever necessary.  It takes only seconds to install or remove it.   You can secure it to either side of the Center Leg by sliding the T-Bolt into the T-slot.
The dimension of the wood block (Trailing Hook) is
3/8" (9.5mm) T
2 1/8" (54mm) L
1 1/4" (32mm) W,
Drill a 9/32" (7mm) through hole which is 5/16" (8mm) from the top, 5/8" (16mm) from either side, for a 1/4-20 x 1 3/4" T-bolt to pass through.

You will require one of each of the following hardware:-
1/4-20 x 1 3/4" T-bolt
1/4-20 through hole knob
1/4" flat washer
Note: Every GR-200 shipped with this extra hardware, otherwise they are easily available from many woodworking supply stores.  You may be required to slightly grind down the width of the head of the T-bolt to under 1/2" (12.7mm) in order to fit into the end T-slot of the GRR-Ripper.  If you are a registered GRR-Ripper owner, Micro Jig will send you a free T-Bolt upon request.  You must send in your registration card, registration cannot be taken over the phone.

Caution:  The use of the Trailing Hook on the GRR-Ripper will limit that GRR-Ripper for use only at the trailing end of your stock.  Thus, “leap-frogging” two GRR-Rippers is only possible with the Trailing Hook removed from both GRR-Rippers.
