Slide 1 - Micro Jig Presents: Drawing Reference Cut Lines on your Table SawTo further enhance the accuracy of your woodworking, we suggest drawing reference lines on your table saw that indicates the cut line down the entire length of your table saw. We use a red line to distinguish the inside cut line and a blue line to indicate the outside cut line. Use ultra fine permanent markers that can be easily distinguished on your table saw.
-
Slide 2First, cut a piece of scrap wood. Then, do not move the fence. We use the Micro Jig GRR-Ripper System to make the cut and the MJ Splitter Steel PRO for added safety.
-
Slide 3Use the keeper piece as a straight edge to draw the Red line. Move the stock and the pen down the entire length of the table saw.
-
-
Slide 5Optional: You can extend the red line to out feed end of the table saw as well.
-
Slide 6To draw the off cut kerf reference line, cross cut the same piece of scrap wood. Make sure you use a stop to maintain the position of the stock.
-
Slide 7Use the cross cut stock to draw the Blue reference line down the length of the table saw.
-
Slide 8The red and blue cut lines will increase your accuracy when sighting down the cut line. These lines provide excellent reference points for setting the tunnel clearance for the GRR-Ripper cut.
-
Slide 9The reference lines also work well for lining up tricky cuts such as wedge cut as shown. This example shows a taper cut that the dark grain will be completely cut off from the keeper piece. Simply, draw a straight line down the stock and line up both ends to the desired cut line.
-
Slide 10GRR-Ripper is a perfect tool for making tricky cut like this or cutting many other irregular-shaped stocks. Here the Adjustable Spacer is used as a balanced device and the guide surface contacting the fence.
-
Slide 11The GRR-Ripper feeds and controls both sides of the stock and the stock never contacts the fence.
-
Slide 12The GRR-Ripper holds both the keeper piece and the off cut piece in their original orientation throughout the entire cutting operation and guides the work piece through the saw blade following the reference lines drawn.

Slide 13A perfect cut with the GRR-Ripper and reference lines.
