Ripping a bevel edge on a table saw would be unthinkable in most cases. Take the situation above where you are guiding a very narrow piece of wood along the fence on a left tilt table saw resulting in very little footing left to stand. The lack of control, the chance of kickback, or the thought of getting your hands caught by the saw blade is enough to turn around and close up shop—unless you own a GRR-Ripper.

With the GRR-Ripper, you will have the balance and control over the work piece. Because you the know GRR-Ripper will keep your hands away from the blade, you can make the exact cut you want with confidence.

First, to make this cut you will need to install a Zero Clearance Throat plate (ZCI) on your table saw. The OEM throat plate opening is too wide and the work piece may fall into the opening during the cutting operation. This would be a disastrous situation for the woodworker. The ZCI will eliminate the large opening and make for a better cleaner cut.

As the picture shows, the ZCI will better support the stock than the OEM throat plate.

The picture demonstrates how to set up the GRR-Ripper Control System to make this intricate cut. The GRR-Ripper really makes it simple and safe for the woodworker to achieve these normally difficult and dicey cuts.

Use the GR-200 GRR-Ripper ¼” Leg as the guide surface against the fence and to hold down the work piece. Here we use an additional Stabilizing Plate to “pin” the stock against the fence and offset the other Stabilizing Plate for balancing support. We simply used a riser block, a few spacers, and T-bolts to create the extra height.

Make sure your Stabilizing Plate will clear the path of the saw blade.

We also added a user-built trailing hook with a nylon spacer to provide additional control over the work piece by preventing the loose piece from shooting back.

By placing two MJ Deflector+Connectors in the front and back of the GRR-Ripper you get additional protection through out the entire cut.
