MJ Handle Bridge

New Accessory for the GRR-Ripper®

Balanced pressure from the GRR-Ripper® to both sides of the saw blade is the key to better control of the stock during most any table saw operation. In the Instruction Manual, we advise our users to adjust the handle location and secure it with a Philips screw driver so it is directly above the cut line to achieve a better distribution of pressure whenever necessary. For example, when making a 1/4" rip cut, the handle should be secured directly over the saw blade that passes through the right tunnel between the 1/4" Side Leg and the Center Leg and the handle should be relocated to above the left tunnel when making a wider rip rip cut.  This has been proven to be an effective technique for virtually all configurations and uses.

Many GRR-Ripper® owners indicated their desire for a tool-less way for the handle adjustments. We received many requests suggesting the use of thumb screws or ratchet handles in place of a screw driver. We went back to our drawing board and examined these suggestions. We manipulated these ideas with numerous configurations and found it does simplify the adjustment process but we want more than what it can be accomplished. We then approached this issue from a different angle, ideally trying to eliminate the need for any handle adjustments, while at the same time providing better control – and the resulting MJ Handle Bridge Set is our simple and effective answer.
With the arch shaped MJ Handle Bridge attached, the downward pressure from the handle is spread across the whole width of the GRR-Riper® body through the FOUR contacting points (two from each bridge) instead of through the two mating points directly under the handle without the bridge.  Because of the MJ Bridge Handle enhances the distribution of balanced pressure throughout the GRR-Ripper®, the need of location adjustments of the handle is virtually eliminated.

Arch shaped Handle Bridges distribute the downward pressure to cover the entire width of the GRR-Ripper®.

Note: The MJ Handle Bridge Set is not a required component for the normal functions of the GRR-Ripper® - it is designed to promote enhancement in control and convenience, and to accommodate our continuing plans for future development of the GRR-Ripper® System.  The MJ Handle Bridge Set is an optional component and is not included in the GRR-Ripper® GR-100 or GR-200 retail package.

The MJ Handle Bridge, an arch shaped component which provides FOUR (4) contact points with increased widespread coverage.

Virtually eliminates the need to adjust the handle on your GRR-Ripper®.

Significantly improves control by distributing more balanced pressure throughout the non-slip surfaces.

Handle can be secured on the MJ Handle Bridge in-line with the saw blade or skewed to exert auto pressure against the fence when pushed.

Drawing shows handle parallel to the body with one side leg removed for full edge profile routing on router table.

Skewed handle exerts auto pressure towards the fence, exceptional comfort and convenience for left hand uses.

Bonus - Includes an easy on/off trailing hook template complete with hardware to further enhance your GRR-Ripper® System.

Trailing hook can be positioned to the right or the left of the Center Leg.

Safely feeding short stock for face jointing.

A customized Trailing Hook from scrap can be made by all end users for the purpose as a backing block to reduce "tear out", also delivers the familiar push stick effect on both sides of stock.

For dado cut on table saw, router table or partial edge profile cut, such as Stile and Rail or radius router bit with a ball bearing guide.
Never Use this setup for through cut on table saw, or on cut that changes the overall dimension of the stock.

Some of the uses of the trailing hook are illustrated in the GRR-Ripper® Instructional DVD .
