Woodworking & DIY Content Creator

Are you an experienced content creator with a knack for storytelling and a passion for woodworking? We are looking for a Woodworking DIY Content Creator Extraordinaire to join our team and generate brand-centric content that promotes our products, educates our audience, and empowers our customers. This role is perfect for someone who loves inspiring, entertaining, and informing through high-quality content.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Video Production
    1. Scripting film narrative
    2. Storyboarding film shot composition
    3. Filming content
    4. Acting as talent
    5. Post-production and editing
    6. Continually elevating our storytelling and production value
  2. Photography
    1. Take high-caliber photography for products, projects, lifestyles, and people
    2. Curate and select choice pictures that represent Microjig's brand well
    3. Photo editing and enhancement
  3. Content Creation
    1. Woodworking project build & development, plans, and instructions
    2. Copywriting
    3. Technical writing for manuals
    4. Creating content library and catalog
    5. Support sales team with collateral and needs to communicate product benefits and story effectively
  4. Media Integration
    1. Collaborate with customer support, public relations, and social media
    2. Integrate brand/product content with Web, Graphic Design, and Dealer support
    3. Cohesively deliver a unified brand message and tone across all brand visuals that delight and WOW customers
    4. Collaborate with top influencers in the industry to create collaborative content and high-impact exposure
    5. Tradeshow attendance, demos, and support
    6. Interacting and engaging with customers
  5. R&D Ideation and Early Prototyping
    1. Ideation of Product Ideas during projects and builds
    2. Early conceptualization and prototyping of ideas
    3. Vetting and identifying marketability and uniqueness of ideas to present to the R&D team

Qualifications

Qualifications

  1. Experience: Proven experience as a content creator or in a similar role, ideally within the woodworking or related industry.
  2. Storytelling: A passion for storytelling and content creation, with a good sense of humor and the ability to engage a diverse audience.
  3. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  4. Marketing Knowledge: Strong understanding of content marketing principles and social media platform algorithms.
  5. Technical Skills: Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
  6. Video Production: Experience in creating and editing video content specifically optimized for mobile viewing.
  7. Hands-On Skills: You must have experience using a table saw, router table, jointer, and bandsaw and provide video proof of these tools.
  8. Brand Alignment: A passion for woodworking and a comprehensive understanding of Microjig's mission, products, and philosophy.
  9. Independence: Ability to work independently, meet strict deadlines, and collaborate effectively with an international team across different time zones.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Content Strategy: Develop and execute a mobile-first content strategy that aligns with our mission, amplifies our brand standards, and optimizes content for smartphone consumption.
  2. Project Documentation: Regularly build projects using Microjig products and document the process, creating engaging and educational content for our audience.
  3. Social Media Engagement: Leverage trends and behavioral algorithms across various social platforms, including YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, to amplify content reach and engagement.
  4. Creative Storytelling: Use your storytelling skills and humor to create captivating content that resonates with our audience and reflects our brand personality.
  5. High-Quality Production: Create, edit, and deliver high-quality content across multiple platforms, consistently enhancing our brand image.
  6. Collaborative Ideation: Collaborate with our marketing and product teams to generate innovative content ideas that showcase our products' transformative potential and align with brand initiatives.
  7. Content Creation: Generate daily micro-content and weekly pillar content to engage and educate our audience.
  8. Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on industry trends to ensure our content remains relevant, competitive, and aligned with our mission.
  9. Customer Education: Work with our customer service team to create educational content addressing common customer questions and concerns.
  10. Performance Analytics: Use analytics to assess content performance, making data-driven decisions that further our mission and engage our audience.
