Set Your AP Clamps Your Way

All “F” style clamp arms, like our MATCHFit Dovetail clamps, hold under pressure because the clamping force is jamming the bar across the hole in the clamp arm. Our Patented AP Spring ‘pre-loads’ the arm in the same manner even when the clamp is not under pressure. This is what keeps the AP Clamp arm from moving.

If the clamping arm of your Dovetail AP Clamp or MATCH Fit Ratchet Clamp slides too easily, or does not slide easily enough, there is a quick and easy fix. You can adjust the AP Spring to provide the level of tension you want in your clamps in just four simple steps:

Step 1- Remove the bolt at the bottom of the clamp with a 4mm hex wrench and slide the arm off the bar.
Fun fact: the screwdriver we supply with our MATCHFit Pop Stops is also a 4mm hex wrench!

Step 2- Bend the AP Spring slightly over the square hole in the arm for more tension, or slightly away from the square hole for less tension.

Step 3- Replace the clamp arm on the bar and test the fit and tension. Adjust again if needed.

Step 4- Reinstall the hex bolt when you are satisfied with the adjustment.
These steps allow you to set all your clamps to the same tension, or you can set each one up for any specific task you want. The AP Spring lets you be in control.
